Technical Account Manager, API Partnerships
Shout About Us · Remote (worldwide) · Full-time · 60K - 80K USD
About the role
We're hiring a Technical Account Manager to own and grow our most strategic accounts. You’ll own the technical relationship with our API partners, from their first technical evaluation through implementation and ongoing support.
Reporting directly to the CRO, you’ll be the first dedicated post-sales professional at Shout About Us, responsible for making sure our biggest customers deploy, expand, and stay. Our ICP is founders, product teams, and engineering teams.
This is a hands-on role. On any given day, you might join a prospect’s technical discovery call, troubleshoot an API request with a partner engineer, coordinate a fix with our engineering team, or improve a quickstart guide. You’ll also help build the documentation and processes that make each new integration easier than the last.
Location and hours
Remote, anywhere. Our standard working hours are Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. US Eastern Time, including a lunch break. Occasional calls outside these hours are required for APAC partners and key implementation milestones.
What you’ll do
Own a portfolio of 10-15 strategic accounts. Be the primary technical contact for API partners, keep stakeholders informed, and follow issues through to resolution.
Support technical evaluations. Join sales calls, demonstrate API capabilities, understand the partner’s requirements, and explain how an integration would work.
Lead partner implementations. Turn requirements into a clear integration plan, guide developers through setup and testing, and track progress through launch.
Troubleshoot directly. Investigate requests, responses, logs, authentication issues, and integration behavior before escalating to engineering.
Work closely with engineering. Provide clear reproduction steps, relevant evidence, and customer impact when an issue needs deeper investigation.
Improve the developer experience. Create and maintain API guides, Postman collections, code examples, FAQs, and onboarding playbooks.
Identify recurring friction. Share partner feedback and integration patterns that can inform product improvements.
Lead expansion efforts. Cross-sell new features and products as a natural extension of the relationship, not a separate motion.
What we’re looking for
4+ years in a customer-facing technical role or equivalent at an API-first or dev-tools company
Strong practical understanding of REST APIs, HTTP, JSON, authentication, webhooks, pagination, and rate limits.
Comfort using Postman or curl, reading logs, and writing or adapting small code examples in a language such as JavaScript or Python.
Experience driving adoption inside complex orgs: navigating the gap between the buyer who signed and the team that deploys
Strong follow-through. You keep track of open questions, set expectations, and make sure customers know what happens next.
Startup experience at a company under 50 people. There's no support team behind you.
Clear written and spoken English. You can explain the same issue to a developer and a nontechnical stakeholder.
Owner mentality. "I'll make sure this gets done," not "I passed it to engineering."
Why you should join
Own meaningful partner relationships from technical evaluation through launch and beyond.
See the impact of your work in successful integrations and better customer experiences.
You’ll own and drive every initiative you work on from start to finish. We fully trust you.
Work remotely from anywhere while collaborating on a shared schedule.
Work directly with the people selling and building the product.
Why you shouldn't join
You are not comfortable working without a clear structure and playbook.
You need predictable hours. Most weeks are normal. Go-live weeks and APAC escalations aren't.
Interview process
Our process includes an introductory call, a short written exercise, a practical technical session, and a final conversation with our CEO. We’ll share the details and expected time commitment before each step.
About Shout About Us
Shout About Us is API-first review infrastructure for marketplaces and platforms.
Reviews are the most valuable decision signal in every transaction: which agent, which contractor, which property, which restaurant. Almost every platform that hosts those decisions rents that signal from Google, Trustpilot or Yelp. We give platforms the APIs and infrastructure to own it.
What you can build with our APIs:
A verified first-party review engine: collection, verification, moderation and publishing under your brand
Third-party review aggregation from Google, Yelp, Facebook and 80+ other sources
AI review responses drafted and posted natively, without your customers leaving your platform
Review solicitation and surveys triggered from events in your product
Flagging, disputes, AI insight reports and competitor analysis
We’re a small team looking for someone who can make it easier for partners to understand, integrate, and succeed with our API.
